Will book, 1860-1899 [microform].

Will books record the county clerk's copy of original wills which were probated in the county court. The wills are used to dispose of the testator's property and estate. Will books may include date of will, names of testator and beneficiaries, value of estate, description of property, amount willed to each heir, date probated, attestation of county court, and date recorded.

The Circuit Court handles civil matters which involve more than $1,500 as well as capitol offenses and felonies. Between 1802 and 1849 the Court ruled on divorce petitions.
